Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Weib Über Schemen Gebeugt; And Das Weib (Wingler/Welz 52 & 53) by Oskar Kokoschka was sold in the Important Prints & Multiples: Part II auction at Sothebys in New York in April 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 630.00 (€ 523.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oskar Kokoschka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Joseph De Montesquiou-Fezensac in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 20,395,200.00 (€ 18,012,187.58).
