Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bellyup by Peter Shelton was sold in the Contemporary Art Part II auction at Phillips in New York in May 2008. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,426.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Peter Shelton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Longarm, 1990-91 in September 2019 with an auction result of USD 31,325.00 (€ 28,725.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bellyup von Peter Shelton wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Part II bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 6.426,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Shelton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Longarm, 1990-91 im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.325,00 (€ 28.725,36).
