Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Times Square by Richard Estes was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session auction at Christies in New York in November 2015. It changed hands for a price of USD 245,000.00 (€ 231,963.64) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 180,000.00 – 250,000.00. Admittedly, works by Richard Estes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gifts of Nature in March this year with an auction result of USD 1,284,000.00 (€ 1,181,015.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Times Square von Richard Estes wurde im November 2015 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 245.000,00 (€ 231.963,64) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 180.000,00 – 250.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Estes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gifts of Nature im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.284.000,00 (€ 1.181.015,45).
