Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Template - book by Sam Lewitt was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 489.34). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sam Lewitt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Template - wall work, which sold at auction in May 2016 for GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,304.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Template - book von Sam Lewitt im Mai 2016 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 375,00 (€ 489,34) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Sam Lewitt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Template - wall work beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.304,89) versteigert wurde.
