Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2019 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Arcs and Lines by Sol LeWitt. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,198.57). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Arcs and Lines von Sol LeWitt zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.198,57) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
