Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2014 Christies in London held the auction Modern Masters & Polígrafa: Celebrating 50 Years of Printmaking, which included the work Carmí 8 by Antoni Tàpies. The price achieved of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,408.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antoni Tàpies achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gran ocra amb incisions (Large Ochre with Incisions) in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 1,650,500.00 (€ 2,081,799.44).
