Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Waterfall by Bryan Hunt was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,117.64). Admittedly, works by Bryan Hunt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pangaea II in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 44,650.00 (€ 52,808.99).
