In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Day Auction, which included this untitled work by Christopher Wool. The »bidding war« ended at USD 907,200.00 (€ 845,401.17), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christopher Wool achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Riot) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 29,930,000.00 (€ 27,223,940.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Day Auction durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Christopher Wool zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 907.200,00 (€ 845.401,17) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christopher Wool erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Riot) im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 29.930.000,00 (€ 27.223.940,33).
