CLAES OLDENBURG (1929-2022) Geometric Mouse - Scale C anodized aluminum multiple, 1971, with the artist's incised initials, numbered 108/120 (there were also three artist's proof examples), published by Gemini G.E.L., Los Angeles, with their incised stamp, in generally very good condition, framed Overall: 19 x 20 x 13 in. (483 x 508 x 330 mm.)

The work Geometric Mouse - Scale C by Claes Oldenburg was sold in the Contemporary Edition auction at Christies in July this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,150.64), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claes Oldenburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clothespin Ten Foot in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,637,000.00 (€ 3,443,476.61).

Die Arbeit Geometric Mouse - Scale C von Claes Oldenburg wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Edition bei Christies versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 18.900,00 (€ 17.150,64) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claes Oldenburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Clothespin Ten Foot im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.637.000,00 (€ 3.443.476,61).
