Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study for a Sculpture in the Form of a Saw, Cutting by Claes Oldenburg was auctioned at Christies in New York in March this year. The price achieved of USD 37,800.00 (€ 34,768.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claes Oldenburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clothespin Ten Foot in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,637,000.00 (€ 3,443,476.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study for a Sculpture in the Form of a Saw, Cutting von Claes Oldenburg kam im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 37.800,00 (€ 34.768,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claes Oldenburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Clothespin Ten Foot im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.637.000,00 (€ 3.443.476,61).
