Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rapture by Dan Colen was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,160.00 (€ 18,786.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dan Colen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boo Fuck'n Hoo in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,077,000.00 (€ 2,255,865.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Rapture von Dan Colen kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 20.160,00 (€ 18.786,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dan Colen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Boo Fuck'n Hoo im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.077.000,00 (€ 2.255.865,10).
