Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Blue, Yellow and Red Squares by Ellsworth Kelly was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in March last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 21,562.50 (€ 19,437.93). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ellsworth Kelly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Curve VII in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 9,809,000.00 (€ 8,901,896.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Blue, Yellow and Red Squares von Ellsworth Kelly wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 21.562,50 (€ 19.437,93) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ellsworth Kelly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Curve VII im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.809.000,00 (€ 8.901.896,72).
