Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Faith Ringgold achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in July last year. In the Contemporary Edition auction, the work Somebody Stole My Broken Heart sold for USD 10,080.00 (€ 9,880.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Faith Ringgold achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Listen To The Trees in September 2018 with an auction result of USD 375,000.00 (€ 322,663.91).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Faith Ringgold erzielte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Edition wurde die Arbeit Somebody Stole My Broken Heart für USD 10.080,00 (€ 9.880,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Faith Ringgold erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Listen To The Trees im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 375.000,00 (€ 322.663,91).
