Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Four Plates, from Mountain Moods 4 by George Elbert Burr was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in January 2024. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,024.00 (€ 894.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Elbert Burr - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Desert Night, which sold at auction in October 2000 for USD 1,997.50 (€ 2,353.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Four Plates, from Mountain Moods 4 von George Elbert Burr kam im Januar 2024 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.024,00 (€ 894,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von George Elbert Burr mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Desert Night beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für USD 1.997,50 (€ 2.353,88) versteigert wurde.
