Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Abstract Painting (596) by Gerhard Richter was sold in the Contemporary Art Evening auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2007. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,785,000.00 (€ 6,661,900.87), 22% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gerhard Richter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Abstraktes Bild in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 30,389,000.00 (€ 41,901,917.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Abstract Painting (596) von Gerhard Richter wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.785.000,00 (€ 6.661.900,87) und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerhard Richter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Abstraktes Bild im Februar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.389.000,00 (€ 41.901.917,57).
