Description
HELEN FRANKENTHALER (1928-2011) Solar Imp screenprint in colors, on wove paper, 2001, signed in pencil, numbered 40/126 (there were also eighteen artist's proofs), published by the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts/List Poster and Print Program, New York, the full sheet, in good condition, framed Sheet: 39 3 ⁄ 8 x 30 in. (1000 x 762 mm.)
Auction result well in line with expectations
In July this year Christies held the auction Contemporary Edition, which included the work Solar Imp by Helen Frankenthaler. The price achieved of USD 10,710.00 (€ 9,718.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helen Frankenthaler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Royal Fireworks in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 7,895,300.00 (€ 7,029,917.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Christies die Auktion Contemporary Edition durch, in der auch die Arbeit Solar Imp von Helen Frankenthaler zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.710,00 (€ 9.718,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Helen Frankenthaler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Royal Fireworks im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.895.300,00 (€ 7.029.917,19).
