Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jasper Johns achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2017. In the Contemporary Edition auction, the work Lands End sold for USD 18,750.00 (€ 17,526.64) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jasper Johns achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Small False Start in November last year with an auction result of USD 55,350,000.00 (€ 53,618,134.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jasper Johns erzielte im März 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Edition wurde die Arbeit Lands End für USD 18.750,00 (€ 17.526,64) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jasper Johns erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Small False Start im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 55.350.000,00 (€ 53.618.134,26).
