The result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 57,950.11) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Paul Riopelle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans Titre in December 2017 with an auction result of EUR 4,882,500.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Sur Les Graviers von Jean-Paul Riopelle wurde im Februar 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 57.950,11) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Paul Riopelle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sans Titre im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 4.882.500,00.
