The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,650.00 (€ 7,036.42), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Dine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fence (Sydney Close) in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 391,000.00 (€ 436,481.36).

Die Arbeit A Robe in Los Angeles von Jim Dine wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.650,00 (€ 7.036,42) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jim Dine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Fence (Sydney Close) im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 391.000,00 (€ 436.481,36).
