Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition, which included the work Five Paintbrushes (Third State) by Jim Dine. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,907.46). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Dine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fence (Sydney Close) in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 391,000.00 (€ 436,481.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Edition durch, in der auch die Arbeit Five Paintbrushes (Third State) von Jim Dine zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.907,46) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jim Dine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Fence (Sydney Close) im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 391.000,00 (€ 436.481,36).
