Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jim Dine achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in March this year. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Pink Chinese Scissors sold for USD 4,080.00 (€ 3,752.76) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Dine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fence (Sydney Close) in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 391,000.00 (€ 436,481.36).
