Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Woman) by Jonathan Chapline for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,492.38). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War to Present at Christies and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jonathan Chapline achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Image Gallery (Collecting and Transcribing) in May last year with an auction result of HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 224,383.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Woman) von Jonathan Chapline für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.492,38) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War to Present bei Christies erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jonathan Chapline erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Image Gallery (Collecting and Transcribing) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.890.000,00 (€ 224.383,56).
