The work Personnages: one print by Karel Appel was auctioned at Christies in July this year. It achieved a price of USD 1,512.00 (€ 1,372.05), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karel Appel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two birds and a Flower in December 2012 with an auction result of EUR 841,000.00.

Die Arbeit Personnages: one print von Karel Appel kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.512,00 (€ 1.372,05) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Karel Appel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two birds and a Flower im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 841.000,00.
