Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Karin Mamma Andersson was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,831.01). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karin Mamma Andersson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On Tenterhooks in March this year with an auction result of GBP 756,000.00 (€ 860,096.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Karin Mamma Andersson im September 2018 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.831,01) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Karin Mamma Andersson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On Tenterhooks im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 756.000,00 (€ 860.096,03).
