Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Lynne Drexler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September last year. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Tropic Blue sold for USD 352,800.00 (€ 360,625.57) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lynne Drexler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Herbert's Garden, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 1,500,000.00 (€ 1,397,819.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lynne Drexler erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wurde die Arbeit Tropic Blue für USD 352.800,00 (€ 360.625,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lynne Drexler mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Herbert's Garden beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 1.500.000,00 (€ 1.397.819,40) versteigert wurde.
