The work Cabeza con Mariposas II by Manolo Valdés was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. It achieved a price of USD 151,200.00 (€ 140,900.20), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Manolo Valdés - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Infanta Margarita, which sold at auction in February 2011 for GBP 457,250.00 (€ 538,602.24).

Die Arbeit Cabeza con Mariposas II von Manolo Valdés kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 151.200,00 (€ 140.900,20) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Für andere Arbeiten von Manolo Valdés mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Infanta Margarita beobachtet, die im Februar 2011 für GBP 457.250,00 (€ 538.602,24) versteigert wurde.
