Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Prospects by Michaël Borremans was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in London in June 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 272,750.00 (€ 310,611.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Michaël Borremans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Girl With Duck in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,045,000.00 (€ 2,860,444.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Prospects von Michaël Borremans wurde im Juni 2017 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 272.750,00 (€ 310.611,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michaël Borremans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Girl With Duck im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.045.000,00 (€ 2.860.444,21).
