Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Roberto Matta could be acquired at Bonhams in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner auction, the work Les Jupitiens changed hands for USD 229.50 (€ 215.41) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roberto Matta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Pendu (The Hanged Man) in December 2011 with an auction result of EUR 1,800,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Roberto Matta konnte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner wechselte die Arbeit Les Jupitiens für USD 229,50 (€ 215,41) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roberto Matta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Pendu (The Hanged Man) im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.800.750,00.
