Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tree Bark Mask by Sherrie Levine was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 25,200.00 (€ 22,717.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sherrie Levine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 962,500.00 (€ 778,469.75).
