It achieved a price of USD 126,000.00 (€ 95,238.10), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 58%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Wesselmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Great American Nude No. 48 in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 10,681,000.00 (€ 6,864,395.89).

Die Arbeit Great American Nude #74 von Tom Wesselmann wurde im Februar 2007 in der Auktion First Open Post-War and Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 126.000,00 (€ 95.238,10) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 58%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom Wesselmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Great American Nude No. 48 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.681.000,00 (€ 6.864.395,89).
