YAYOI KUSAMA (B. 1929) Yellow Pumpkin and Red Pumpkin two painted cast resin multiples, 2013, from the edition of unknown size, published by Benesse Holdings, Inc., Naoshima, Japan, with the artist's copyright stamp on the underside, in very good condition, each with the original box Each Overall: 4 x 3 1 ⁄ 2 x 3 1 ⁄ 2 in. (102 x 89 x 89 mm.)
Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Yayoi Kusama achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in July this year. In the Contemporary Edition auction, the work Yellow Pumpkin and Red Pumpkin sold for USD 3,024.00 (€ 2,744.10) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yayoi Kusama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yayoi Kusama erzielte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Edition wurde die Arbeit Yellow Pumpkin and Red Pumpkin für USD 3.024,00 (€ 2.744,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
