Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alex Katz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blue Umbrella I in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 3,375,000.00 (€ 3,914,757.96).

Die Arbeit Blue Umbrella 2 von Alex Katz kam im Juni diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 72.390,00 (€ 66.291,21) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 45%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alex Katz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blue Umbrella I im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.375.000,00 (€ 3.914.757,96).
