Description
ANDY WARHOL (1928-1987) Blackglama (Judy Garland), from Ads screenprint in colors, on Lenox Museum Board, 1985, signed in pencil, numbered 107/190 (there were also 30 artist's proofs), published by Ronald Feldman Fine Arts, Inc., New York, with the artist's and publisher's copyright ink stamp on the reverse, the full sheet Sheet: 38 x 38 in. (965 x 965 mm.)
Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July this year Christies held the auction Contemporary Edition, which included the work Blackglama (Judy Garland), from Ads by Andy Warhol. Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 32,760.00 (€ 29,727.77). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Christies die Auktion Contemporary Edition durch, in der auch die Arbeit Blackglama (Judy Garland), from Ads von Andy Warhol zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 32.760,00 (€ 29.727,77) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
