Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled Etching #1 by Barnett Newman was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2020. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,667.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barnett Newman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Fire I in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 84,165,000.00 (€ 61,704,545.45).
