Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (#2A) by Brice Marden was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 450,000.00 – 650,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 482,600.00 (€ 452,975.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Brice Marden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 11 (to Léger) in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 16,999,000.00 (€ 15,060,689.29).
