Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Otterlo Mastaba (Project for Rijksmuseum Kröller-Müller) by Christo was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 19,050.00 (€ 17,880.61). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) in February 2021 with an auction result of EUR 1,706,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Otterlo Mastaba (Project for Rijksmuseum Kröller-Müller) von Christo wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 19.050,00 (€ 17.880,61) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.706.500,00.
