Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Day Auction, which included the work Wrapped Reichstag (Project For Der Deutsche Reichstag - Berlin) by Christo. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 61,250.00 (€ 71,874.82). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) in February 2021 with an auction result of EUR 1,706,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2009 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wrapped Reichstag (Project For Der Deutsche Reichstag - Berlin) von Christo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 61.250,00 (€ 71.874,82) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.706.500,00.
