Signed with initials, dedicated 'for Rosa' and numbered 4/72 in black ink on the interior of the potato (there were also 26 artist's proofs lettered A-Z), published by Tanglewood Press, Inc., New York.

Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claes Oldenburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clothespin Ten Foot in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,637,000.00 (€ 3,443,476.61).

Die Arbeit Baked Potato, from 7 Objects in a Box (P. 3) von Claes Oldenburg kam im Juni diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 8.890,00 (€ 8.141,03) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 48%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claes Oldenburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Clothespin Ten Foot im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.637.000,00 (€ 3.443.476,61).
