Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Blue Crystalized Pikachu by Daniel Arsham was auctioned at Phillips in London in January last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,268.00 (€ 2,718.48). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daniel Arsham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Quartz Eroded Vogue Magazine 101 in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 2,312,500.00 (€ 268,207.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Blue Crystalized Pikachu von Daniel Arsham im Januar letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.268,00 (€ 2.718,48) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Daniel Arsham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Quartz Eroded Vogue Magazine 101 im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.312.500,00 (€ 268.207,19).
