Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Phat Free by David Hammons was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 237,500.00 (€ 194,767.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hammons achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 8,005,000.00 (€ 5,883,433.78).
