Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Hotel Acatlán: Two Weeks Later (Museum Of Contemporary Art, Tokyo 271) by David Hockney. The price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 57,051.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
