Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Ed Ruscha achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April last year. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Vanish (Engberg 68) sold for USD 30,240.00 (€ 28,698.87) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ed Ruscha achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hurting the Word Radio #2 in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 52,485,000.00 (€ 47,631,364.01).
