Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Omar Khayyam Txiki (Little Omar Khayyam) (K. 82007) by Eduardo Chillida was auctioned at Phillips in New York in June this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,540.00 (€ 2,326.01). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eduardo Chillida achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rumor de Limites No. Vi in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 2,024,000.00 (€ 2,928,694.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Omar Khayyam Txiki (Little Omar Khayyam) (K. 82007) von Eduardo Chillida im Juni diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.540,00 (€ 2.326,01) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eduardo Chillida erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rumor de Limites No. Vi im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.024.000,00 (€ 2.928.694,26).
