Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Reclining Woman (Donna sdraiata) by Fernando Botero was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 279,400.00 (€ 262,248.92) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fernando Botero achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Musicians in November this year with an auction result of USD 5,132,000.00 (€ 4,704,803.81).

Die Arbeit Reclining Woman (Donna sdraiata) von Fernando Botero kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 279.400,00 (€ 262.248,92) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fernando Botero erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Musicians im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.132.000,00 (€ 4.704.803,81).
