Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Coyote Dawn by Helen Frankenthaler was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 304,800.00 (€ 286,089.73), 22% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helen Frankenthaler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Royal Fireworks in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 7,895,300.00 (€ 7,029,917.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Coyote Dawn von Helen Frankenthaler wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 304.800,00 (€ 286.089,73) und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Helen Frankenthaler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Royal Fireworks im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.895.300,00 (€ 7.029.917,19).
