Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Helen Frankenthaler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in June this year. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Flirt (R. p. 195) sold for USD 17,145.00 (€ 15,700.55) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helen Frankenthaler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Royal Fireworks in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 7,895,300.00 (€ 7,029,917.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Helen Frankenthaler erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Flirt (R. p. 195) für USD 17.145,00 (€ 15.700,55) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Helen Frankenthaler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Royal Fireworks im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.895.300,00 (€ 7.029.917,19).
