Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Emperor of Chickens by Jamie Wyeth was sold in the Contemporary Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 500,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 529,200.00 (€ 493,150.68). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jamie Wyeth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pumpkinhead–Self-Portrait, which sold at auction in May 2016 for USD 1,690,000.00 (€ 1,517,736.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Emperor of Chickens von Jamie Wyeth wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 500.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 529.200,00 (€ 493.150,68) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jamie Wyeth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pumpkinhead–Self-Portrait beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für USD 1.690.000,00 (€ 1.517.736,87) versteigert wurde.
