In November this year Christies in New York held the auction Graphic Century, which included the work The Critic Sees, From Ten From Leo Castelli by Jasper Johns. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,696.37), 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jasper Johns achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Small False Start in November last year with an auction result of USD 55,350,000.00 (€ 53,618,134.26).
