Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Joel Shapiro achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in December last year. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work Untitled (Red Square with Blue); Untitled (Blue Square with Green) sold for GBP 1,530.00 (€ 1,727.22) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joel Shapiro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in March 2016 with an auction result of USD 701,000.00 (€ 615,452.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Joel Shapiro erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints and Multiples wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Red Square with Blue); Untitled (Blue Square with Green) für GBP 1.530,00 (€ 1.727,22) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joel Shapiro erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 701.000,00 (€ 615.452,15).
