Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2011 Phillips in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Part II, which included the work Liar VII by Karin Davie. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,390.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Karin Davie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Psyche in September 2010 with an auction result of USD 74,500.00 (€ 54,775.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2011 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Liar VII von Karin Davie zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.390,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Karin Davie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Psyche im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 74.500,00 (€ 54.775,38).
